
Collaboration Cycle for Effective Instruction
The Collaboration Cycle for Effective Instruction represents a problem-solving method as well as a protocol for teacher collaborative meetings. These seven steps are designed around domains teachers are already familiar with: assessment, curriculum, and instruction.
These steps continue as a cycle. They can be repeated school-wide, within a team, or for an individual teacher.

How Long Should the Collaboration Cycle last?
Each school is different and the time for teachers to meet and collaborate varies greatly from school to school. The depth and complexity of the goals tends to drive the length of the cycle. We recommend keeping goals manageable and relatively short-term. Four to six weeks is a good general guideline, though some schools set weekly goals.
