Support Special Education

0 Points

Response to Intervention and Instruction (RtI²) is an instructional framework that promotes a well-integrated system connecting general, gifted, supplemental, and special education services to provide a high-quality, standards-based instructional experience that meets the needs of students.

We provide technical assistance to districts, schools, and classrooms as they move from policy and conceptualization, to practical, day-to-day implementation. In many cases, operational and scheduling barriers create gaps in opportunities for kids as they are ostracized or even pushed aside. Our work focuses on integrating students in the least restrictive environment, employing high expectations, and providing access to rigorous instruction so students succeed.

Systems and techniques that help students develop accurate self-efficacy are the most effective long-term solutions to gaps in achievement.

special-edWe focus on the core aspects of the RtI framework, translated into practical terms for schools and teachers:

  • Comprehensive Assessment
  • Tiered-Approach to Instructional Design
  • Problem-Solving Method

Our support includes:

  • Strategic planning and design at the district and school level
  • Training on assessments and data analysis
  • Support for models of co-teaching
  • Support and coaching for a collaborative model of decision-making
  • Training on team facilitation techniques and full implementation of the Collaboration Cycle for Effective Instruction including differentiation to address special needs
