Shelia Wells holds a Master’s of Education from Claremont Graduate University and a Bachelor’s in Public Relations from California State University, Long Beach. Shelia has taught elementary and middle school in California. She has also served as a district coach and trainer for Math Matters, Open Court, Houghton Mifflin Reading and the Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment, (BTSA) In addition to the above experiences, Shelia Wells has worked as a Consultant throughout California for the last 8 plus years providing elementary and middle school administrators as well as teacher’s literacy support. Shelia has also provided Language Arts textbook support for K-8 teachers per the California AB75/AB466 No Child Left Behind Federal Initiative. Shelia has provided various professional developments relative to teaching children and adolescents how to read. She has also provided professional developments, trainings, and classroom support to administrators and teachers on essential literacy skills, fluency, vocabulary comprehension and writing. Previously, Shelia supported various urban, suburban, and rural districts as a District Implementation Advisor as well as an Executive Coach for Reading First, and non Reading First Schools. These cities and states include San Bernardino, Fontana, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Garden Grove, Fairfield, and Stockton, California; St. Louis, Missouri; Anchorage, Alaska; Barrington, Illinois; Miami-Dade, Florida; Muskegon and Detroit, Michigan, and Indianapolis, Indiana.
